Birthday Celebration

LONG STORY SHORT----I enjoyed celebrating my birthday with friends and making lots of memories that I know will be talked about for years to come. We bought donuts from Macey's and took them to our independent living center to share with friends while we had lunch during our class. Later in the afternoon, We picked up our friend Maria and played two games of bowling up at BYU which if you ask me was a treat in the sense we just had fun being together. We also had my older sister along with her kids join us at the bowling alley which was a lot of fun too because her two older kids wanted to help us bowl. We loved getting to cheer them on as they rolled the bowls down the lanes and would once in a while give us a strike or spare if we were lucky to have them show up on the scoreboard.

From there we walked over to the new BYU creamery to have dinner and spend more quality time with each other. We laughed a lot more than we should have and definitely wanted to keep the energy high as much as we could possible without drawing attention to ourselves. I loved getting to share my king sized kit kat bar with friends while we finished bowling our two games, which did I forget to mention that I had a strike my kind niece wanted to make sure I got was incredible!!!

I also received lots of birthday wishes from friends and family that made my entire day more special. I am grateful for the amazing people who continue to support and help me in any way that they can while even though they are not with me in person. Overall, I had the absolute best day celebrating with friends and family that made it a celebration I know will be amazing the next year that lies ahead.

Fall Break

Happy Birthday, Camille!!!

I am so grateful for your friendship in my life and the example you continue to be for so many people is second to none. You have truly been a light in this world through the ways you put a smile on the faces--- of everyone who gets an opportunity to be in your presence. Thank you so much for being a wonderful & kind friend that always puts the needs of others before their own, which if you ask me is nothing short of an understatement. Hope you are having the most unforgettable, amazingly terrific thirty first birthday ever this weekend and getting to celebrate with those you love so much!!!

My best friend Camille is truly one of the most energetic people I have ever met in my life and cannot be more grateful for the unconditional love you share so freely with everybody. I have loved getting to know what an incredible young woman you are in the ways you bring positive vibes into every room and more importantly just being a disciple of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Other News:

I am genuinely hoping with all of my heart that BYU wins their football game tomorrow night and makes it an experience that cougar fans will never forget. I know that cougar nation will pack LES to the rafters and cheer on our favorite collegiate team to another victorious performance, which I hope is a good game for everyone who will be participating. I am doing my best to not think about it too much and get myself stressed out with this, but I am confident that BYU will play with toughness, fundamentals of what the game is and should be while putting in their legitimate effort, alongside with grit while battling it out safely on the football field. #CougarFan4Life.

Fall Break 2025

Our SNAP activity last night was decorating pumpkins and laughing with our friends which if you must know is one of my favorite things to do. I didn't know how to decorate it at first and had creative ideas-- for what I wanted my pumpkin to look like. I ended up drawing swirls and stars among other things that I had come to my head while sitting around with my friends at our table. We definitely made it a time to remember and cannot wait to see what the rest of this month has in store for us, especially with another chance to dress up for one of our upcoming SNAP activities.

I also really liked getting to volunteer in my independent living center's summer program and help everyone of the participants have a good experience, which if you must know taught me a lot more about myself than I ever imagined. I may not have been perfect with what I was asked to do at times, but all I could do was my best effort and make sure it was something nobody would soon forget.

Birthday Plans

Birthday Party, Balloons, Blue. Royalty ...

My twin sister and I along with our friends from Ability First will be going swimming at the Provo Rec Center for a couple of hours. We are excited to swim and spend quality time with everyone is going to be an amazing experience that I know we will cherish forever!!! As far as being a peer mentor for this, I know there will be a lot of laughs, smiles, and opportunities to put my leadership skills to good use. I am excited to get back in the pool again and maybe if we get luck enough we can go on some of the slides if people who would feel comfortable with that want to. Who knows??? I am almost positively certain we will plan on bringing frozen treats for everybody to have prior to being at the pool for part of the day and hopefully everybody will like them as much as we do. It has definitely been a great time for me to get to know our participants better and learn so much from them about living life to the fullest. #LeadershipSkills #PeerMentor.

LONG AFTER THAT---We are going to come back home and get cleaned up for the rest of our amazing day of swimming at the Provo Rec Center. We will be heading out to dinner with our friends prior to the play we will be attending at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre to see the inspiring musical, ANNIE!! It's definitely going to be a late night for all of us and yet I know we will have a lot of laughs, memories and happiness to share with each other!!! I cannot wait to sing along with the songs that are in this musical and obviously being inspired with how a young girl handles living in a time of the great depression--which if you ask me I am certain was nothing short of easy. I am grateful for the hope she had to push through the challenges she was up against and able to see the light at the end of the tunnel---but you get the idea here??

I am not particularly certain this will ever happen on my birthday or that anything will come of it---but I would love to get a pair of tickets to attend at least one or two of the BYU women's basketball games this season!!! I absolutely loved getting to be in the seats a couple of inches from the court and watching our lady cougars compete to the best of their abilities. It would be so much fun to get another epic selfie with the greatest of all time mascot and of course he would make the experience one that I would cherish forever!!! I am hopeful there will be one day when I can get my first and only selfie with Paisley and her husband Connor after one of the BYUWBB games--- which if you must know would only make this year one that I would keep close to my heart for many years to come. I don't know if it will ever make it into the pictures on my phone, but I will say that it would be a core memory that would last forever. #FingersCrossed #Randomness #LetsGoLadyCougars #iBleedBlue.

Conference Weekend Recap (Mini Edition)

I certainly loved every single minute of attending the Saturday evening session of general conference with my friends and making memories that we will remember forever!!! I am grateful for the spirit that I felt in that session amongst over twenty one thousand people who were in attendance in the conference center. It was definitely something I felt so incredibly excited about and could not wait to spend an hour and a half with feeling the spirit in a way that I have needed for awhile.

I was incredibly surprised to know that our seats were amazingly close on the bottom plaza section and not even knowing that we would have a good view of the choir amongst so many other things. It was so amazing to feel the entire conference center go from noisy to complete silence as members of the first presidency walked in to get to their seats on the stand.

The entire session was very uplifting and inspirational which if you ask me is not even close to being an understatement. I loved being able to listen to the inspired words that our church leaders had to share with us and reminding everybody of what this Easter season has to be focused on. I know there was not a single moment when I didn't want to pinch myself and think it was all dream that I had long awaited for so many years!!!

Early June (Disneyland Trip)

I am definitely looking forward to an incredibly fun and unforgettable time in the happiest place on earth in a month with my older sister's family!!! I really hope that we all have an amazingly good time together and can enjoy the Disney magic that the place has to offer. I am excited to once again see the magic of all things Disney through the eyes of my niece, nephew, niece and littlest nephew that joined our family back in early February of this year!!! I cannot wait to hopefully get pictures with the characters and make some memories that I will cherish forever if not more years down the road!!

33rd Birthday Celebration (Unofficial News)

I have been really hesitant about writing this on here and because I am positively certain nothing in what I write right now will make any sense whatsoever. I would really love to get a new journal to contemplate & write my thoughts down to look at for years to come, along with a squish-mallow that is super cute!!!! I absolutely love looking at them in the stores and wishing I could have one for myself to snuggle up with at night as I lie down into bed. #ToBeContinued #MoreToCome #IYKYK #Amazing

March Dump

March 7th, 2025 - Best Friend's Birthday Celebration

This entire month has come and gone so much quicker than I would have expected, but it has been filled with so many unforgettable moments and opportunities I am eternally grateful for. First of all, My bestie Maria celebrated her 33rd birthday this month and it was truly a night to remember if you ask me!! We all enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at a local buffet restaurant and have so much fun laughing with each other & of course just having quality time.

Shortly after we left the restaurant, all of us got into our separate cars that we came in and drove up to the beautiful campus of BYU to watch the men's volleyball team take on USC!!!! We had a lot of fun cheering on the cougars as they played their game and did I forget to mention we got shown on the jumbotron for in my mind felt like an eternity because we danced for such a long time, which for us girlies is not anything I know we'd like to not do on a regular basis. We loved getting to see our favorite mascot walk by us several times throughout the game and sometimes I didn't even know he was coming until we walked right past--- but you get the point?? I am grateful for the many laughs that never ended throughout the game and then we headed back afterwards to our best friend Maria's house for cake and presents. We loved watching her excitement as she opened one present after the next--while also just being there for each other. I am really happy that we got to have another together with our friends and I know there will be more of them in the future!!!

SNAP - BYU Football Team

THE NIGHT BEFORE---We were at our SNAP activity and of course some players from BYU football showed up to introduce themselves, which I will admit was probably the best thing ever!! I loved getting to learn a little more about them and get excited for the next football season has in store for not only the players, but for us dedicated BYU fans!!! We loved getting to watch our friends do little drills together-- and play a little bit of football that did not require anybody getting tackled to the ground or getting hurt, but if you ask me it was an incredible experience that I hope we have again soon. Did I forget to even mention some of their football players are pretty famous and I look forward to watching them play the sport they love so much next season!!

Birthday Celebration

TOMORROW AFTERNOON & EVENING---My best friend Maria will be having her unforgettable and amazing 33rd birthday celebration!!! I have waited anxiously for this special day to arrive and cannot wait to spend quality time together being the girlies that we are. It is definitely surreal to think all of us ladies-- are getting older and still love to enjoy each other's company more than you could ever imagine, which if you must know is nothing short of an understatement. I am excited to eat a scrumptious meal at my besties favorite place (Golden Corral) and then going from there to my first BYU men's volleyball game, which I am certain there will not be a single dull moment whatsoever. I am so thrilled to cheer on the best college sports team ever from wherever we are going to seat and watch our cougars have a win over USC!!! I am definitely hoping not to lose my voice throughout this weekend and have the most unforgettable night of my life with the greatest group of besties ever!!!

TONIGHT----Our SNAP group has invited the BYU football team to come tonight and I am not sure what surprises or things they have in store for us, but I am definitely looking forward to spending time with the coolest people ever!!! I am not particularly certain if there will be a special guest joining us, but I am just ready for a good time with everyone and also trying my hardest to have as much fun with my best friends as I can leading up to our together tomorrow!!!! #IYKYK

Weekend Plans

LAST WEEK-----I was invited to unexpectedly participate and join my friend's institute class that takes place at a local high school seminary building. I quickly got myself together as much as I possibly could and next thing I knew they were already in front of my house after just taking in the mail. I immediately climbed into their car and we headed on our way to their institute class, which if you ask me is such an amazing experience for those involved--but you get the picture here right??

LONG STORY SHORT----During our class time they had asked me if I would be interested with going to a Utah Jazz basketball game and of course at first, I ended up declining the offer because of a commitment that my parents have this weekend & didn't feel comfortable leaving my siblings home alone for what was a very long period of time. I have not heard anything back about this ever happening and it looks like I am going to spend my weekend at home instead (which is totally fine with me due to the fact, I am not certain how we would be able to purchase tickets to begin with.) I was obviously looking forward to this once in a lifetime experience again, but I am grateful to spend a relaxing weekend at home with my sister and Rudy who is the friendliest dog on the block!!!

Other Stories: (Best Friend's Birthday Party)

I am so excited about this upcoming party to celebrate my best friend turning another year older and quite frankly to admit that I am stoked for it would be an understatement. I cannot wait to have a delicious meal at golden corral, attend my first ever in person BYU men's volleyball game, along with cake and presents at my best friend's home!!! I know it will be so much fun spending quality time together with our friends and making memories that we will cherish forever...but if you ask me, you have to see it to believe it if you all know what I mean??

Shout Out

Happy Birthday, Paisley!!! I may not know you too well, but the example you have set for me over these last few (almost three years now) has been nothing short of a dream come true!!! You have inspired me to see the good in those around me, never worrying about what others think and being authentically myself no matter what circumstances I may at times find myself in. I cannot thank you nearly enough for all of the ways you have impacted my life and given me a thousand reasons to smile, when I didn't know what to expect from any given situation I faced up against. I am grateful for your selflessness in making those around you want to be a little happier than they were when they walk into a room and I know for me that was very surreal in every sense of the word. I have never forgotten the big hug you gave me the second I determinedly walked up to meet you after attending senior night for two of your former teammates. I didn't want to wait another minute to finally meet the amazing young woman that has left such an imprint on the hearts of many people they have interacted with and I truly hope to do the same for you as we get to know each other. I am not sure when the next time we will run into one another is going to happen, but I can promise to have one of my nice big hugs waiting for you while sharing many laughs together!!!

When I came across your YouTube channel two years ago, I was not quite sure if it would be awkward for a random fan like me to watch your videos and wishing every night on stars for two out of the last 5 years to finally get to share a smile and get a chance to meet the talented young lady behind the lens of their vlogging camera. I was a little hesitant at first with making the decision to subscribe to your channel, but after much consideration I immediately decided that I didn't want to pass up an opportunity to get to know you a little bit better. All of your videos have made me smile, laugh and just overall feel good about who I am and not worry so much about the little things. You are truly an incredible leader who I aspire to be when I grow up more often than I would sincerely like to admit.

Even though I actually started following you after what I knew was a very heartfelt ending to your collegiate career, but knowing that you had so much ahead in your future made me only want to pray that much harder for your dreams to become a reality. You have inspired me more than once to recognize the potential I have to do anything that I set my mind to. I am grateful you have reminded me to never lose sight of what is most important while chasing my dreams and cannot thank you enough for being that role model I need in my life right now.

I am incredibly grateful for your positively spunky attitude and looking on the bright side of everything that life has ever handed to you, which is something I can definitely work to get better with as the years go on. Your energetic personality can easily light up any room you walk into and even though we have only met each other once this year, I cannot wait to keep following your journey in a sport that you love so much and want to do the same for others is second to none. Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your journey along with all of your many fans that know and admire who you are not only as an athlete but as someone who wants to help others make their dreams of playing basketball something extraordinary!!!

Disability Pride Project 2024

After having participated in this two years ago, I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to do this again and luckily I was able to come up with a legitimate answer to the questions I had been asked. It certainly took lots of time for me to think about what to share with people and have a slightly better response than what I had given years prior. I may not know what disability pride means to me on a personal level, but I do know it is so crucial to let the community understand what this is about and that our disabilities do not define any of us, let alone tear us down into what society perceives us to be. This will be posted in a few days and cannot wait for everyone to read my answer as well as other participants who had an interest in being a part of this.

Presentation Opportunity (To Be Determined)

One of my colleagues reached out to me earlier today and asked if I would be interested in giving a solo presentation about celebrating self determination at Taylorsville High School. I haven't made a decision about this yet and can only hope it all works out for the best. I have not done a solo presentation before, but I am definitely willing to do what I can in making this one a success--(minus the fact I will not have any colleagues with me is going to be a little nerve-wracking but I can put my best self out there.) I am hopeful this can be an experience that will not only happen more in the distant future, but allow myself with being able to grow into the self advocate I want to be.

32nd Birthday (Just For Fun)

I legitimately wish I was turning twenty three all over again & not the other way around-- which if you ask me is nothing short of an understatement. I am seriously hoping to have an unforgettable day with lots of smiles and excitement in the air!!! With all of that being said, I am excited to be reaching a new age in life and beginning more adventures that lie in my future. It is definitely going to be in hopes of being a day that I can look back on with a smile on my face and celebrating with those I love!! We will be getting together with friends two days later (due to one of them being out of town starting tomorrow into part of next week.) I cannot wait to share memories with everyone and laugh until our hearts get so tired that we have to quiet ourselves down!!! #LikeNoKidding.

BYU Men's Basketball (Exhibition Game)

Our good neighbors invited me and my twin sister to attend the first BYU Men's basketball game of their season tomorrow night. I am excited for us to cheer on our favorite team to victory along with all the other energetic BYU fans who will be there in attendance. I genuinely have no doubt we will have the best time ever and not get home too late in the evening hours!! I have never attended an exhibition game before and so I definitely think we will be in for a treat this time!!! I look forward to watching how this game will end up and hope it is an experience that no one will ever forget. #GoCougs.

Other Updates:

Happy Halloween!!! I hope everyone is able to have a safe and fun Halloween. I didn't know what to dress up like for this year and then decided to be Wednesday Addams!! It was so much fun to be someone other than myself a couple of times and enjoy being with my friends. Our independent living center hosted their own Halloween party last week and it was so much fun getting into the Halloween spirit with everyone in attendance with us.

We also celebrated our best friend's birthday last week and got to make homemade pizzas, drink some yummy apple cider, eat scrumptious cupcakes for dessert, etc. We definitely made an effort to not stay up too late into the night hours and ended up coming home after 11pm. It was a lot of fun laughing w/ each other and making memories that we will cherish forever, which if you ask me is nothing short of an understatement!!! We also skimmed thru Camille's scrapbook of memories with her family and

Late Night

NEXT THURSDAY----My twin sister and I along with our best friends will be meeting up at Camille's home for a little birthday together!!! We are going to make mini homemade pizzas with various toppings and playing games or whatever else we decide to do with our time. I cannot wait for all of us to spend the night together and make some new memories that will last forever--which if you ask me is nothing short of an understatement. I will make sure to write up a mini update on this if I ever get myself around to it- but I cannot genuinely make any promises!!

Happy Birthday Camille!!! I am so grateful for your friendship in my life and the unconditional amounts of energy you share with everyone is amazing. It has been so much fun getting to know what an awesome, fun loving, true, loyal and wonderful person you are and continue to be in the lives of so many people who know you!! Thank you so much for being who you are and making this world a better place!!!

Other Update:

This year in 2023 has given me a fair share of lessons to take close to heart and not worry about things I have no legitimate control over. It has reminded me about who I want to be and continuing to set a good example for others within the disability community to look up to. I have grown closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ as I have felt of his love for me and knowing that everything will be okay...regardless of whatever mistakes I have ever made. I am so grateful for my testimony of this gospel and knowing that I can always turn to the one who overcame everything for us, so that we could be here. He's recognized the faith I have to trust him in every situation that life throws me and not ever losing sight of what I can do better as one of his disciples.

Shout Out

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Scooter!!! Thank you so much for being a part of my life for 14 and a half--almost fifteen years. You truly brought a smile to my face whenever I needed it most and made me feel extra special every time I was around. I am grateful that you taught me to have unconditional love and always see the best in every situation that life had to offer. Thank you for teaching me how to be a good person in this world and making others around me the exact same way. I love and miss you so much but know that you are watching over me everyday. I look forward to our happy reunion in heaven!!!

New Updates

NEXT WEEK---I will be making three trips to the Capitol building in Salt Lake with some of my friends to attend a legislative training put on by one of the governor appointed entities I serve on. I am grateful for the chance to learn more about how this all works and what I can do as a self advocate to make sure we're getting our voices heard. It is not always the easiest thing for me to walk up and communicate with people that I do not know very well about disability related issues. I may not have as much experience in regards to some of the things that are going on--but I do know it will make an impact with showing up and doing what I can to make a good impression. I do look forward to supporting my colleagues who work around the clock every day in making sure the disability community is a safe place for not only myself but every one else too. I am not sure how many legislators we will get the chance to visit and talk to at this event--but all I can do is my best with representing an organization that has such a soft place in my heart. If I am ready or not for this to take place next week--I better make sure I am prepared for a full day of being very educated & informed on what I need to do better.

It's obviously not the most fun trips ever...but my presence will be needed as much as anyone else who plans to attend & learn what they can. I know things are going to be slightly technical and big words are gonna be used but the main purpose to do my best. I am grateful for the opportunity to do this in person without feeling so far away from people that I haven't been able to see for a while since our world during those crazy times.

Mini Shout Out

My best friend Danielle will be celebrating her 31st birthday tomorrow!!! I look forward to spending time with all of my friends and making some new memories with each other. We are going to meet up at Provo Beach Resort to play various games and then later head over to her favorite Mexican place for us to have dinner. I am grateful for her friendship and example in my life of what a good friend should be, which if you must know is very important and something I never mess around with. I cannot wait to see her tomorrow afternoon and catch up with what is going on in our lives. I wish her all the best not only now but in the coming year ahead!!

Special Tribute

My good friend Josh would have celebrated his twenty ninth birthday today and instead I am here writing up a blog post about him. He was truly one of the best people you would have ever met and he always just kept a smile on his face, no matter the circumstances that he was faced up against. I'm grateful for his true legacy of making the best in every situation and not worrying about what others think--which if you must know is a lesson that I could learn for myself. I hope that you are having the most unforgettable heavenly birthday ever with everyone on the other side!!! :)

I am so grateful for the opportunity that I had to know Josh and his contagious positive attitude, made you feel a little better than when you walked into a room. He made me feel good about myself as an advocate, mentor, friend and disability leader who wants nothing more than to see our world be a more inclusive and wonderful place. He never failed to make you laugh or smile whenever you needed it the most and it never ceased to amaze me with how he wanted to live everyday with a chance to keep going.

Girls Night

7+ Celebration Clip Art - Preview : Celebration Clipa | HDClipartAll

I'm so excited for another chance to spend quality time with my best friends and celebrating three different occasions in one night will be an unforgettable experience!!! I cannot wait to laugh until it hurts, smile till I'm not able to do that anymore, watch a delightful and wholesome movie, not to mention all of the many memories that we will make together. We could seriously not be more than excited about our best friend Camille tying the knot in a few short weeks and just knowing the smiles on our faces will only continue into the days long afterwards.

Whenever my twin sister and I along with our best friends spend time together, it is never a quiet moment which if you ask me is nothing short of an understatement. We love getting to visit and catch up with each other when the time comes around for us to do that--minus the crazy amount of energy that comes sticks with us all night long. Hahaha... I am not trying to overdo this blog post with too much excitement that I know will come right behind us all when that special day arrives!!!

I am truly grateful we have each other to hang out with and can look forward to the biggest day of our best friend's life!!! I am certain there will be a lot more than just all of the activities included with this amazing celebration of not only our bestie turning one year older... but supporting her on a day that she'll remember for all eternity.

I may be a little too excited about these upcoming celebrations more than I'd like to admit :) It is definitely hard to believe that my best friend will be tying in the knot in a few months and knowing her life will be changed forever is surreal more often I keep thinking about it. Please stay tuned for more updates that I'll promise will be shared on here at some point in time, but just continue to remain patient with me :)

Movie Synopsis

Once I Was Engaged (2021) - IMDb

TOMORROW NIGHT---My twin sister and I along with our best friends are headed to see this new film that came out this year!! I am excited to spend quality time with my friends and getting to laugh until our hearts are tired--which if you ask me is more of a true statement than you'd think. It is definitely going to warm our hearts for sure and there is no question it will be an event to remember for years to come. This film is actually a sequel to one that was made back in 2014 titled: "Once I Was A Beehive." and if you've not had the chance to see it yet-- I would highly recommend that you do because it will inspire you to do just a little better. I may not know what other surprises this film will have in store for us, but I am really excited to see this new storyline come to life and realize the pressures that mother/daughter have when things do not turn out as planned.

I'm not necessarily going to spill anymore on this film than what I have shared already... but I cannot wait to keep celebrating my birthday that took place last week. I am looking forward to reconnecting with these characters after they have all grown up a little bit and are moving on to other things in life that I am sure bring them even closer as a group. (Especially when there is a special occasion to share with all of your closest friends!!)

Unofficial News: (Little Update)

My life has continued to remain busy with so much going on and can only imagine what will arrive on my lap next time around. I am grateful for the amazing people who are continuously patient with me & remind each other of what they can do... even if it feels like I am not doing nearly enough to reach out within my new leadership roles as I'd like to be. It has kept teaching me lessons about learning to never give up on what I am capable of doing and recognizing what my potential in life really is everyday. It is never going to become any much easier if I am not willing to step up to the plate and just make it clear that my voice gets heard. I may not be as educated or informed about stuff as I'd like to be in these new leadership positions--but all they expect me to do is my best and not worry about what I can't improve on to do a little better.
