Untitled Story:

This is my one hundred ninetieth post that I am about to write on here and have this spontaneous goal of mine to write up over 279 posts in the next year. I am confident this might either end up being one of the most legitimate decisions that I have ever made in my life or just turn into a complete utter mess altogether. It is also in honor one of the most legitimate television sitcoms that aired for twelve years and aired that number of episodes-- which I know will hold a special place in my heart for years to come.

Earlier today in our special needs institute class, the teacher asked us a specific question that has been on my mind throughout the entire day. All of us were asked about when we had an experience or time in our lives when we had to use fasting and prayer--- which to most people it would happen naturally, but this was during a very low point in my life when I didn't know where else to turn.

LONG STORY SHORT--- I went through an experience last year that made me want to reach out of my comfort zone and make a difference in someone else's life. I was already in a difficult position w/ trying to make the best of that awful school year and felt like maybe I needed to start praying for this individual on a consistent basis to make their life somewhat easier. I obviously didn't know what else to do in those moments expect want to storm out of the classroom with them being left in their room with no chance of wanting to return. I was also in a difficult position with not feeling as needed much in the classroom or what I had volunteered to do was fulfilled for the teacher in anyway whatsoever... but I didn't want to them to know how it effected me on a personal level.

I'll legitimately never forget when they mentioned to me--- "You are so kind!!" not straight to my face but it gave me a boost of confidence that I had been making their life slightly better in the smallest if not biggest way possible. #MorePostsToCome

Special Invitation - Stake Relief Society Activity

Somehow all of the incredible stake relief society presidency has been convinced that my faithful prayers last year... made our social an unforgettable experience for everybody involved. I was more than willing to take on that invitation close to heart and never once failed to make sure we'd have not only a successful turn out alongside with being able to have GORGEOUS weather for a perfect evening!!! Earlier today when I was sharping multiple colored pencils & got excitedly asked if I would take on the responsibility of praying for our next upcoming activity in two weeks-- (Of course, I would not pass up an opportunity to do a little more than my fair share in hopes this activity not only has beautiful weather but that everything goes over well.) I will most definitely post about this experience of mine at a later date and please stay tuned for any updates on that down the road!!! :) #Determined #PowerOfPrayerIsReal #LegitimateReasonEnoughRight?!?!

David Archuleta Christmas Concert - Capitol Theater (Salt Lake City)

Please stay tuned for updates on this when it gets a little bit closer!!! I am not particularly certain with any kind of unexpected surprises or anything like that to happen while we are there, but I'm not trying to get my hopes up at this point either. I do know without any questions asked-- All of us will mostly have an incredible evening together and cannot wait to get ourselves in the holiday spirit. I am fairly determined that we will enjoy being in the same room with each other and making memories that I'll know cannot ever be forgotten!!!

Miss Amazing Queen Fundraiser:

All of us are gonna donate stuffed animals to an organization called "The Page That Gives" and we'll be giving these special gifts to families in need. I am very excited for this opportunity of giving back to other people who may not wake up Christmas morning with gifts under their tree and I am grateful with being able to see smiles on their faces, which I know will warm my heart in more ways than one if you ask me!!!

Monthly Update

Post Halloween Craziness:

I really enjoyed getting to be dressed up as Miss Transylvania for an entire day and was more than relieved to be myself the rest of the night. I also liked spending time with my third grade students more than anything in this world & feeling of their excitement was just incredible!!! We also went down to University Mall and several of the stores had candy available for the thousands of kiddos that were dressed up!!! It was so much fun getting to see my cute niece Skye have a slight feel of what trick or treating would be like for her and despite the fact, she is still quite young with being able to understand all that is going on-- she looked very cute in her Halloween costume!!! :)

Image result for gratitude quotes

As this time of year begins, I have so many things in life to express my gratitude for and in more ways than one!!! I obviously shared maybe a little too much in the last year about my challenges and not knowing if I deserved to experience them or if it was to teach me a lesson. I may never want to see those happen again in the future, but I do know my life would not be what it is without them to help me grow everyday.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated with an incredible non profit organization called Miss Amazing throughout this year!!! I have definitely loved getting to make new memories as well friendships with the other queens who have made this reign, one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I have really liked getting to participate in the National Miss Amazing Pageant in Chicago this summer and being inspired by so many young women and girls with disabilities, to know they can make a difference in more ways than any of us could ever imagine.

I am grateful for the remarkable (almost ten years) that I have been volunteering at the neighborhood elementary school. From the time I was seventeen years old until now, I have learned so much about what an incredible thing it is to give back and help other people besides myself. It has given me a fair share of challenges along the way but I am grateful to have so many extraordinary people, who want me to give it my best no matter the situation is. I am grateful for the hard times I was able to survive and get through even if I had tears rolling down my cheeks, that I could always give myself another chance at it the next week.

I am grateful for living in one of the best communities ever and surrounded by the greatest friends & neighbors my family could ever have in this world. I truly love being able to know that I am in a safe place where everybody watches out for each other and when my parents were told: (when they were looking at the lot our home is on now from people-- "Oh, You will love Grandview, it's like one big happy family!!" It has definitely never ceased to amaze me that our community here appears to feel more like that in countless ways that I could easily ramble about--- but there is no time for it now.)

New Slate

Image result for New Slate Quotes

I have certainly long awaited for this moment to come and wish that every phase in life, could assist me in persevering through all the trials life has to offer. I still have no clue what else this school year holds for me and hope with everything that takes place, I am more than willing to face it with a smile as much as possible. It was slightly hard for me walking outside of the school today & not having had tears want to immediately run down my cheeks... but I am determined to make the best of whatever it is that happens throughout this experience.

As I returned back to the elementary school year this afternoon---I was incredibly thrilled to be inside of a classroom with not only an incredible teacher- but someone who never fails to make me feel alright whenever I mess up. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to help in anyway that I can & hopefully impact her student's life in some way or another. I absolutely loved getting to make corrections with assignments for students and file all of their stuff into folders, which is not an uncommon task that I have ever gotten asked to taken care of.

Halloween Activities:

There is truly nothing more fun than getting to see all of the kiddos in their Halloween costumes and seeing their excitement for this once a year celebration!!! I have never actually been into any of that scary side with the holiday whatsoever and most likely never will be any time soon. I am definitely excited to have an opportunity to dress up again and disguise myself as somebody else for an entire day!!! More about this to come at a much later date and stay tuned!! :)

Untitled Post

Over these past couple of weeks, I have neglected to receive information about whether or not I will be heading back to the neighborhood elementary school this year. It has been extremely difficult for me not being over at a place that feels like a second home and making a teacher's life easier in some way.

I am not particularly certain if this has much to do with the difficult experiences that happened last year at all whatsoever. I am confident there might be some hesitation about stuff-- but there is not a reason for me not being there due to what the previous school year made me feel like at the end. It's been one of the most unusual experiences ever and not knowing what could happen down this road- has left me with being not needed or forgotten about. I am completely feeling like maybe there isn't much for me to help out with anymore this year and even though I greatly miss all of those kiddos-- life has not been the same for me. #iMissYouSoMuchThirdGrade

Girls Retreat - Park City, Utah

I have definitely long awaited for this event to take place and cannot wait to get away from the stress that life has continuously given me. I am more than looking forward to a weekend with lots of laughs, stories to tell, memories that I can positively know will last into the eternities!!! I have always wanted to go up to the National Ability Center in Park City and cannot wait to see it in person with all of the most amazing people ever!!!

Special Needs Ballroom Event 2019:

My older sister created this unforgettable event almost a decade ago & cannot even imagine what my life would be like without it. I have continuously learned to understand for myself about how much of a joy it was for her to dance ballroom and making new friends while at it. It's almost surreal for me to think about how quickly time has come and gone from when this only began with a dozen people, but has continued to become a highlight of an event for so many spectators. I am grateful to have shown up the first day this event began and little did I know what an amazing part of my life, it would soon become down the road.

Not Back To School . . . Yet

I am determined more than ever with heading into this new school year, that every minute of it will be one that can either start off with a BANG or just simply be another chance for me to learn some new skills from the teachers I will get to work alongside with. I do know more than ever with all of the unfathomable situations I had last year, I am confident in not making that decision again any time soon. It has always been difficult for me in the beginning of each new school year, in not being there to meet my new kiddos for the first time-- but I am hopeful it will be a lot more relaxed, stress free and have a lot more adventures/stories to share!!!

Summer Break Continues - Part One

With all of the excitement and craziness in my life, I still have a lot of summer vacation where most of what I'd want to do is not gonna happen. Laugh Out Loud---I have a lot of new adventures in my life I am hopeful will either take place for me or simply give me a different chance in making sure I have my message shared with the rest of the world. I am not particularly certain what else this time in my life has for me down the road, but I am never gonna stop making my voice heard and not trying to draw attention from people. I know there is a lot more for me to learn and take away from all of those times I kept wondering if any moment could lift my spirits, but also show myself that I can do pretty much about whatever I set my mind to!!!

Final Week

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON---I was volunteering in my favorite third grade class and walked into assist the teacher in a variety of tasks that needed to be done, but little did I know what would happen next a couple of minutes later. Some of the girls from my second grade class, braved walking through the rainstorm outside and surprised me with a green house plant along with a brief thank you note. It was obviously quite thoughtful and nice of them to do, but it really made me question in my mind about whether or not, I felt like I deserved that at all--due to the circumstances that I found myself dealing with. I did not want to necessarily read through any of that thank you note because the first half of this school year was nothing but awful and an opportunity for me to put those emotions off to the side. As I read through the brief thank you note, I was not at all if you ask me just unimpressive I felt not knowing if it was even close to sincere or just another excuse to not have me come back. There is only so much more I could share about this and yet it only gives me reasons to emotionally vent on the fact, I will never want to have this kind of a school year ever again!!!!

Along with this, I also got a very heartfelt thank you note from the third grade teacher & her sweet class!!! It truly made me reflect on how much I not only impacted the teacher's life, but also each of her students as well throughout the school year. It was such an absolute feeling of fresh air and gave me a chance to think about why I love what I do at the school every single time I return back. I really felt an overwhelming sense of unconditional love for that entire class filled of amazing kids and just getting to know their teacher as well as themselves was an experience, I will cherish forever. I am so grateful for the patience, kindness, friendship, dedication, hard work both of those teachers put into everything to make the school year one that I will look back on with a smile.

This entire school year was one of the hardest and most rewarding experiences in my life. I never did expect things to turn out like they did at times and somehow I was able to survive through it all with my chin up. I most definitely shed a lot more tears of frustration, stress, uncertainty of whether I just wanted to complete the school year with that second grade teacher because it torn me apart in ways that it never should have. I am grateful that the both of us were able to mellow out a little bit and if you must know, I could have easily given up on the opportunity with trying anymore to make it into some kind of a positive learning experience for myself. I will never want to make another excuse for trying to pretend like I enjoyed the time, I spent in that second grade classroom and realized that I did not think it was the perfect time for me to volunteer with that person either.

Thanks so much to both of those teachers who went out of their ways, to make me feel needed & not to mention a part of things with their students. It was an absolute delight for me to learn from both of them throughout this past year and needing to understand that we can all do our part, in searching for the positive things in life instead of the stuff we do not want to deal with.

Mellowed Out

After how emotional and difficult this school year has turned out to be, I do have to believe that me along with the teacher finally were able to mellow out and not focus so much on the stress I've just had to sit back to watch from a corner. I've really struggled with trying to make a decision on if this experience is one to want another chance for because I strongly do not feel like it would be right to have a school year that puts my faith to the test and not come across as the last person that anyone should feel worried about at the end of the day.

Aside from this trial of my faith, I am determined with all of the power in my heart to make the best of it throughout the remainder of this year. I am certainly hopeful this school year ends on a brighter note than it did when all of this began and quite frankly...I am determined for an outcome that does not leave me in a tough position any much longer!!!!

Personal Vents:

Maybe the both of us were a little hard on ourselves... and possibly just not sure what to expect from the fact we could not meet eye to eye with each other. I really felt like it was a mistake having made any effort to step inside of that classroom and thinking it would be an incredible opportunity for me, to get to know all of those students-- but few of them have noticed that I come in every week. I feel like if this is how next year turns out to become, well I am sorry--but I don't know if I could relive another moment of unfathomable circumstances with anybody else.

Maybe I didn't know the frustration and pressure this individual would see themselves under, because if I tried to find any kind of need to encourage or help them feel better--- it has clearly at times I just simply wished I had never brought it up in the first place. I am not particularly certain if there was a lot more reasons behind all of this than what I am telling you right now, but I cannot wait for another opportunity to grow into a stronger, more confident and determined person.

Calmed Down (For Good?!)

Who knows if this is absolutely true or not... but I can only do whatever makes the teacher's life just slightly easier in some way, but I wouldn't think to get my hopes up as the rest of this year continues forward. Maybe I was not the person who deserved to be in this classroom at all, and sometimes I've tried to make the best of whatever I can in striving everyday to be a good volunteer. I know that my tasks are unnoticed in ways that I will never personally understand-- but I am hoping as long as I'm able to stick with what needs to be taken care of, I will feel more at peace with myself & remaining focused on the times it is helping me to come so much closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am very grateful for his direction and hand in my life throughout what has become one of the hardest & not worth mentioning a very unfathomable period that I didn't prepare myself for. I know he would never give me anything that he knows I could not handle, let alone try to make disappear out of the blue. It's because of Him we can strive harder everyday to recognize the blessings that come from our difficult experiences and make the best of it in more ways than one.

First Birthday

YESTERDAY--- My sweet niece Skye celebrated her first birthday and hard to believe that so much has happened since she came into our family. I am so grateful for the unconditional love she has for so many people and continuously puts a smile on your face, whenever you need something to cheer you up at any given moment. When I first became an auntie, I really didn't have much of an idea or what there was for me to expect other than not having had experience with any younger siblings in my growing up years. It has never made me want to think about how incredibly quick this year has come and gone within a very short period of time, but somehow it feels like an absolute eternity.

Skye has certainly brought so much happiness into my life and continues to make everyone around her feel extra loved. I am so grateful for the many more memories that we will get to share with her and hopefully at some point down the road, her siblings... but not gonna mention anymore about that right now!!!! I know it seems a little bit weird of me to write up about this, when it was fairly clear to me that none of us were present to celebrate with her-- but I do know she felt so loved by lots of pple and didn't have a moment when she was not smiling from ear to ear.

Seven Weeks Left

I can't even believe how fast this school year has come and gone, which to me only means another legitimate summer break to look forward to. It's certainly been an emotional roller coaster for me during this past year without any shadow of a doubt in my mind. I have really needed to focus so much more on my Heavenly Father and Savior, throughout this year more than anything else. I've really been able to feel their hand in my life as I continuously figure out, what the next upcoming school year will be for me and can only hope that it will a much better experience than words can ever say. I have literally gotten myself in situations that most people should never see themselves needing to deal with and can only hope these next few weeks will end on a positive note without teardrops running down my face.

Almost There

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON---The second grade teacher whose classroom I volunteer in asked me this very simple question, "How are you?!" Right in that very moment I could have easily admitted how painful it was for me to be just sitting there next to them and yet other thoughts were running inside my head. I quietly told them a response that I'm sure they were not least expecting to hear out of my mouth, and yet there was not much I wanted to say.

"I don't know... I'm hanging in there." It was all I could think of to tell them and yet it was not the happiest response I had ever mentioned to somebody. There was not much of anything else to talk about with them other than my upcoming pageant this March and the talent I'm currently working on with my mom. We never discussed much of anything else related back to my life and how all the volunteering at the school has been for me...But at the same time, I wished something from my own mouth had gotten said out loud to this teacher friend of mine. I have literally wanted to stand up for myself several times throughout the last couple of weeks and never feel like it was the right choice that needs to be made.

I have literally shed too many tears down my cheeks in order to make the best of this and somehow during various times it has struck a chord with me. I never prepared myself for what an uphill quiet battle this was going to be emotionally difficult and painful like it has turned out to be. I really want more than anything to have the remainder of this school year, just become one of the most rewarding and unforgettable experiences in my life. As much as it hurts to admit this on here, I am not prepared for what the next several months have in store for me and wish that Heavenly Father would make this all fade away in an instant, but that is not how he motivates us to strive harder each day.

IN THE BEGINNING---I really felt like as thought I am just one more person for them to worry about and have something to keep me occupied. It has been nothing short of remarkable to really understand just how much I am not alone in this experience and despite the many times, I haven't wanted to return back inside of that classroom with how I have felt mistreated or in other words-- getting pushed off to the side in a corner with no idea of why I am even there.

Conclusion:

Make the best of every single week that you can possible. It's never felt so incredibly harder on me than this year alone and striving to be a little better has only continued making me less of myself.... but obviously, who am I kidding here?!!! It has been such an emotional roller coaster ride for me in ways than nobody deserves to see themselves on, unless you feel inclined to learn something more about yourself and what you are capable of doing well. I really do appreciate all of the assistance I am able to give this teacher friend of mine so much and cannot thank them enough for being sweet, patient with me all year long. I have certainly never expected this to be as much of a struggle like it has turned out to be at times and maybe it is only the way to learn from my mistakes. Despite all of the fact they know it is hard for me... That doesn't necessarily fix how it has made me feel on a very personal level, but we all need to cut ourselves some slack to know we are doing the best we can do for those around us.

Gratitude - Part One

"Never let the things you want, make you forget the things you have."

This past year alone has literally been a very emotional and rewarding experience for me, in more ways than one. Some of the most unforgettable and hardest moments in my life have strengthened me into a better person as well as trying to strive everyday to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am grateful for everything that has given me a chance to reflect on the many blessings in my life, and if I can honestly admit--I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for those who have stuck with me through it all. I've had to really learn the hard way this last yer and a half about who my true friends are from those who never will be. It has never stopped me from wanting to express my gratitude for the many highs that this life has continued to show me, even if I didn't necessarily deserve it at the time.

I am immensely grateful for the examples of my friends who have kept me in their thoughts and prayers through out this year. All of you have literally made me want to strive harder in this world to be a little better and recognize that everything happens for a reason, whether I've liked it or not. I am thankful for all the many laughs and fun times we have shared together, because it definitely reminded me that there is so much good in the world.

I am truly grateful for the unforgettable opportunity that I have of volunteering in two different classes this year, at the neighborhood elementary school. It has literally been such an absolute treat for me to get better acquainted with the most incredibly talented & sweet teachers ever this year!!! I am thankful for your patience with me as I continue to learn new things from you both every week & making the best of any new task that you ladies give me to do. I am incredibly grateful for their credit into helping me become the best volunteer that I can be in this world and have really enjoyed being around their students each week. It has definitely been a challenge for me at times to not wish that there was more I could do in just helping them out with this, but I know it makes their days a lot less stressful when I can lend a hand with something they need to have taken care of.

I am grateful for the power of prayer in my life, more than anything in this universe!!! I know it will never fail to strengthen somebody whenever things feel almost unbearable, that heavenly helps make everything better. During this struggling school year for a friend of mine, I have consistently prayed for them multiple times each day as much as I possibly can, because it has already given them a little bit of courage to endure through their struggles to get organized in their classroom. It seems like such a small thing to do for just anybody that we know and love, but it has strengthened me in ways that I never could have expected. I have tried to let this person know that I will never stop praying for them throughout this extraordinary school year and make the best of everything that seems difficult, some what easier in some way if at all possible.

New Journey

Self Advocacy Filming Project

NEXT TUESDAY----I will be heading up to Draper, Utah in helping the Utah Parent Center with this project they are working on and needed two advocates to share their success life stories. I have really tried to keep away from sharing this kind of stuff on my blog, just simply because I don't necessarily like getting too personal in the things I write up about. I am determined to make the best of this new experience and hopefully can inspire other individuals like myself, to know they are never alone in whatever it is they want to pursue their dreams. This presentation should only take a few minutes of my morning to get finished as well as just making a good impression on those who will be there. I'm certainly a little bit nervous whenever I get asked to do something out of my comfort zone, but it will be completely worth every minute!!! I am grateful for the privilege to be a part of this project and not being afraid to share what has helped me to be where I am now.

Volunteering Adventures (Part One)

This school year has only been in session for a couple of weeks, but I am definitely learning so much about patience and trying to stick it out as best as possible. It has given me an opportunity with putting my faith and trust in the Savior, that everything is gonna turn out for the better. Everyday this week, I have continuously prayed multiple times a day to help one of the teachers who has quite a lot to get under their feet.

Even though I am not a professional school teacher, it is the least I can do and making their school year a little bit easier, with all of the many new adventures that they have to take on. I am grateful for the experience to put my faith to the test and make an effort, to remind them that they are doing a fabulous job doing what they can to teach those kiddos what they need to learn.

There are only so many times when I wished I could have done something more to help out, rather than just assume it will get taken care of itself without any meaningful effort put in behind the scenes. I know this is such a small little thing to do for someone else, but I cannot fathom it enough in my head about what it has done to help this teacher friend of mine know they can do hard things. I truly have to believe that even when one school year is hard, that's where you learn and grow the most as a person...but it also reminds you that no matter the many challenges you have in life, it will make you stronger.

School Adventures

This school year has already kicked off to an incredible start and experiences that I cannot wait to have take place in the next few weeks!!! I am grateful for both of the phenomenal teachers that I'm working alongside with this year and cannot wait to get to know a lot better. They have been such a joy to be around more than anything in this world & I feel so blessed to have this year to share with both of them!!! I have only been at the school for a couple of weeks now and I am absolutely loving every single minute of that I get to be in those classrooms, with the cutest kiddos I could ever ask for in this world. I am so incredibly blessed to be at a school that is truly almost like my second home & I know that sounds a little bit strange of me to admit, but it is true in more ways than one!!! I've just loved getting the opportunity to serve other people in some capacity, has brought me so much more happiness than I can ever begin to tell you at this very moment.

Since my first year there as a high school student intern at seventeen years old, I never would have expected myself to be good with children in a classroom and trying to make the best of everything that life threw at me. I am really grateful for the way it has changed me into a better person & feeling more comfortable with going out of my comfort zone to make a person's life easier in some way or other. I am helping out in two different classes this year in third and second grade, which has been quite a transition for me from years past because I've never helped in one of the portable classrooms throughout my years at the elementary school. I have absolutely loved getting to cut things out for the teachers, whenever it's needed as well as filing assignments/grading math papers and everything else in between.

I am probably never gonna know when things in my life will settle down and there is not anymore stressful things to be concerned about. I am determined to make the most of every situation that life throws at me during this school year as best as I possibly can do, but at the same time-- I have really continued to pray for the teacher whose still getting their feet under them. I think deep down inside they appreciate all of the help that I am able to give them whenever it's needed at any time!!! I feel confident that they are going to make it through this trial of faith and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Obviously, I am not a professional school teacher by any means whatsoever but with being one of the volunteers at the school there is only so much I can do. I believe with all of my heart, it will get better as the rest of this month goes on and everything gets to where it needs to be. As I've prayed for them continuously throughout the last couple of weeks and trying to help them feel the love of the Savior on a weekly basis...it really brings me so much peace to know that it's all gonna work out.

Early Start

Image result for Volunteer Back To School Quotes

TONIGHT---I received the news about heading back over to the elementary school and can't wait to help out with anything that needs to be done. I am incredibly thrilled to look forward to this amazing new school year and the many experiences that will get to be a part of. I really didn't necessarily quite think it would happen so quickly considering most of the teachers would need extra time, figuring all their stuff out before they are ready to have volunteers come into help. It has definitely been quite an interesting couple of weeks for me as I go back into routine with things and simply wanting to make the best in every situation that I'll have this year. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve & help one of the other third grade teachers, whom I've slowly come to know a little bit off/on throughout the past two years. It probably sounds a little too overly excited right now about the fact, that I haven't been there since this school year started but I do know it's gonna be an unforgettable experience for all of us involved.

This inspiring quote by the world famous Winston Churchill is one that I'd heard of before and it has really stuck out in my mind, about how we do make a life by what we give. I'm definitely gonna admit that when we give of our time to other people and make a difference in their lives, we strive to be a little better than we would otherwise think of ourselves to be. I'm really quite excited to get started with these cute little third graders, who maybe at times drive me almost crazy up to the point where I'll almost burst into tears. I will have an amazingly legitimate teacher whose going to put me right to work and going on stuff that I've never done in my life, but it will certainly give me an opportunity to make a impact on the lives of those kiddos. With all of that said, I wanted to make sure that this coming Thursday will be an unforgettable moment to remember and I can hardly wait for the many memories I will make with so many amazing people.

Continued

Image result for Back To School Quotes

This new school year has already just begun and I am incredibly excited for the many unexpected adventures that I'll have with my students later on. It is honestly difficult for me to not feel a little anxious with wanting to return back so quickly, but at the same time I need to be considerate of the teachers who need a lot of time getting the year off on a positive note. Same thing happened to me last year and of course I had a very logical reason for why I was not able to show up earlier, but I'd much rather have a good experience with the teachers I will be helping out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not worrying too much about this new school year in the sense that there is only so little I can do for people right now. Hey... It only gives me a much longer summer vacation than most people who are already back into school and wish they could just take it easy. Believe me, I do appreciate getting to sleep in every morning for a little bit and then putting myself together, before heading out someplace to do something. I can always have something to do with my free time, like running to do errands w/ my mom and twin sister, taking our dog out for walks when it is cool enough to be outside, reading a book, blogging about my life's experiences, signing up for Institute (which I will talk about a little bit later if it ever happens), etc.

My official duties will not be happening any time soon, till probably near the end of September or the first of October...but I am definitely willing to be patient for as long as it is needed. I know this isn't necessarily the funnest blog post in the world to be reading through, cause not too much is really going on in my life that I can share with you all. I really have experienced a lot this summer and wished things would have been a little less difficult for me, but you know... It is not the end of this world. I will also get to spend some quality time my friends tomorrow afternoon, when we go to the BYU Creamery to have an ice cream cone and visit with each other. It is very rare for us to get ourselves together when there is so much going on with school, family life, and everything else in between to make something like this fit into our schedules. We never have a dull moment together and if you know us well, that is not too much of a surprise..but you know what I mean?? This month not too much has really happened expect for getting to have my older sister and niece here with us, & honestly it is kind of hard figuring out this auntie stuff because I am not an expert at it. I am not really someone who fell into this situation very easily and still have so much to learn, that at times will just push my buttons but I have to be careful.

I am also very much thrilled for the opportunity of getting the chance to plan a self advocacy conference in the spring of next year, and out of all places I could have seen it held...The number one choice was right here in my own backyard in Provo. Luckily, I'll be close enough to home that if anything happens--I can make it work without any problems. It does seem a little strange to have a conference right here at home, but I do think if it all works out alright-- things will fall into place a lot better. I am also excited to hopefully get to do some shopping for back to school clothes and have some new outfits, that I can mix and match with other things!!! I really do like being able to try out new things and make myself as professional as possible, whenever I need to be somewhere. This quote right on the top of my blog post here is one that I think we all need to get reminded of once in awhile, because if we seriously want to be successful in life-- We can't just take the elevator to think it will turn out fine. Sometimes, We need to take those stairs that may seem like forever till we reach the top, but I do know it is so worth every step of the way when reaching each of our personal goals. I am determined to make this new school year not only fun experience for me, but a very successful one for those kids who I might be seeing myself working alongside with. It's not for some time till I get back over there to do whatever I can to help out in any capacity, but I do want this school year to be an unforgettable experience for all of us!!!!

Memorable Moments

This last week of school was definitely an incredible and rewarding experience for me. I was able to help in assisting both of my third grade teachers in cleaning up their classrooms for the summer and believe me, it was such a pleasure to make this last week a little bit easier on them. I really liked just being a helping hand in some way and doing whatever they asked me to do, even if it meant taking down all of their decorations that were up all year long to be thrown away. I have helped a couple of teachers at the school clean out their rooms and it is always such a hectic time, to get so many things done in a very specific manner...but it was so incredibly worth every minute. I'm not necessarily like going to sit here all day long and write out everything that they needed me to do for them, but I will say that I felt so grateful to have been a part of their school year. It was amazing to have their kiddos help me out with taking stuff down that would no longer be there and really just excited to be doing something other than sitting around watching a movie in class. There were moments when I'd be in the classroom by myself and having some quiet time to focus on what the teacher asked me to do, I also had to remember to keep people from coming inside when they were not present. Luckily, I did not have anyone come up to me in the classroom while I was in there working on stuff that needed to be done.

The following days were filled with continuing to take down more decorations inside of the class & putting away each of the students chrome book computers back in their respective places. It was so fun for me to do it several groups at a time, and not have so many kids coming up to me with their computer to have cleaned inside & outside, but keeping all of them in class order. I really like just being able to keep things clean and where they belong so that the next time, we would need them-- they are exactly where it needs to be. I absolutely loved watching my third graders have fun with activities they had going on throughout this week and played a lot of games, to keep them busy so there wasn't anyone that needed something. Almost everything else got finished by Wednesday and felt so great that I was able to accomplish so many things, in a short period of time!!! But I'd totally love to do it all over again if there was any possibility of that happening at some point, but we will have to be patient and see what next year has in store for us.

Thursday Morning:

Luckily, my third grade students had field day in the morning so that I could keep working on all of the many things I needed to get done for them. It was really quite nice to not have any kiddos back inside the classroom and just having almost two hours to focus on other things, was such a relief for me. I was able to get all of the words removed from the wall and put into individual piles, with not having any idea if they needed to get put somewhere else. I also removed some more things off the walls and set them gently down on things that I easily thought needed to be there. I did get a chance with getting to neatly organize many of the papers/worksheets that were left laying around all over the place, which I would have kept doing till the end of the week-- but obviously it must not have been necessary of me to continue working on. It was definitely a relaxing time for me to get all of those things done that needed to be taken care of, which I could have easily continued to do for this teacher but they mentioned they would try to get as much of that cleaned out later that day.

Highlights From This Week:

- Got a banana, chips ahoy cookies, and a Pepsi soda to take home with me for lunch on Wednesday afternoon after having worked so incredibly hard for a couple of hours!!!

- Got to spend my lunchtime hour with Miss B and visit with her... which was amazing!! It was so incredibly sweet of her to do that for me and I'm grateful to call her my friend. She ordered me an amazing sandwich from Jimmy Johns and loved every bite!!!

- Had some treats with my third graders outside for a little bit and enjoying as much time with them as I could possible before the days this week was over.

- Signed a lot of my third grade students yearbooks and getting some random kiddos, come up to me to sign theirs as well. It was so much fun getting involved with the excitement of what would be my final time of signing anymore yearbooks for kids the rest of the week.

Market Day

I absolutely loved getting to see my third grade students participate in their market day with selling various items that they had bought with their parents and seeing their excitement for it, was such an amazing sight to see. It was very thrilling for me to receive tickets from them in order to give out to people so they could purchase more stuff that they wanted to take home & yet it brought back many memories of my elementary school days. I remember doing market day while in school and wanting as many things as I could get to share with my family. It was probably none of those things where I don't necessarily recall the anticipation of going around to other classes and seeing what other kids had either bought or made to give away. I never really imagined it would ever come back to me as just only an experience that happens once a year, but getting to be a part of this one was such a cool opportunity for me. My third grade students really worked hard to make their mini shops really cute and super awesome all at the same time, which to me was quite impressive to see their creativity all come out into something like this really amazed me in more ways than one. I enjoyed holding those tickets in my hand & walking around to see what I wanted to purchase for myself, but also liking a chance to feel like a kid again.

Thank you so much to all of the third grade students and teachers for letting me be a part of this special day with you guys. It was such an absolute delight getting to spend time with you all and making memories about my experiences when I was back in elementary school, which I will just admit was something that I'm going to cherish forever.

General Conference Weekend

It's hard to believe that we have another spiritual weekend to look forward to and getting the chance of hearing from our church leaders is such a privilege of mine. I love this gospel so much more than anything else in the world & hoping to get some answers to the questions that I have running inside my head. I know there is nothing else in this world that brings me more happiness, peace, comfort and joy into my life than having the gospel of Jesus Christ in it. I am grateful for the experiences it gives me every once in awhile to focus on what is most important and the knowledge of what my purpose here on this earth is really about. I know it may never get any easier for any of us, but with his help and guidance in our lives we can overcome any challenge that comes in our path. I am truly excited for this opportunity to feel of the love of my Savior and Heavenly Father, as well as being in tune with the spirit of what is most critical at this time in my life.

Best School Year Ever

I cannot even describe into words, what an absolute unforgettable school year it has been for me to help out in two third grade classes and learning from the best kiddos ever!!! I am so grateful for the opportunities it has given me to help kids one on one with so many things & seeing those kiddos cute smiling faces every week is such an absolute delight. They have definitely made this school year into what it is and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind about that. I am thankful for their kindness and the many hugs they continue to give me on a weekly basis, whether or not I feel like I deserve them. I am grateful for the hospitality and patience of both of the teachers who have made me feel such a part of things with their classes. I have also really enjoyed getting to know both of them so much more on a different level than ever before and having volunteered in one of their classrooms last year, I really wanted to make an effort to go out of my way in getting better acquainted with them. It has become such a highlight for me every week getting to see them do what they are so passionate about and the unconditional love they have for their students, is just simply indescribable.
